Please note that this website is designed to prepare you for CalSO. It is vital that you attend CalSO as part of your preparation to enter Cal. Click here for more information about CalSO.

TOOLS should take 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. Gather copies of your transcripts and score reports to make the assessment process as speedy as possible. You can complete this web orientation all at once or a little at a time. Just be sure to complete it before you attend CalSO.

If you’re interested in the Environmental Economics and Policy major, make sure you take one semester of principles of microeconomics (macro is not required) and two semesters of calculus before coming to Berkeley. In your first semester here, take intermediate microeconomics (ENVECON 100 or ECON 100A or ECON 101A) and statistics (STAT 20 or 21). That way, when you're ready to declare the major in your second semester of your junior year, you will have met the requirements to do so.
